Folklore Tradition

Featuring talented and dedicated dance groups from across Ontario, the competition showcases the many diverse cultural communities, and their love of heritage and commitment to tradition.
Luigi Scanga + Duo Campanaru
Luca Politano is Calabrese, living in Milano and teaching at a technical school. His love of Calabrese folk music spans more than thirty years. His original folk group U Campanaru performed in many cities all over the world with great success.
Ernesto Schinella
3pm and 5pm
Fourteen year-old Ernesto Schinella began his career in 2002 at age 5 when he participated at the “45th Zecchino d’Oro”, a well-known song contest for young voices. In 2008, Ernesto was among the guests/singers on Antonella Clerici’s well-known talent show “Ti lascio una canzone” on Italian national Television.
Giorgia Fumanti

Giorgia Fumanti is an Italian soprano (operatic pop / crossover), composer, producer and arranger now living in Canada. Her music is best described to that of Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Enya and Barbra Streisand.
Mr. CHIN Bikini

The gents are vying for $4,000 in prizes and the coveted title of Mr. CHIN 2011. The theme is chic Miami-South Beach, with swimwear and beachwear designed by DEA, and made in Canada.
Valerio Scanu
7pm
Valerio is one of the fastest rising stars in Italian music. In February 2010, at the age of 19, Valerio won the 60th edition of the best known televised Italian song contest, the Sanremo Music Festival, with his song Per tutte le volte che.
